Hey You,

Hey You,

It has been more than awhile.

To be honest, I feel as though, I have neglected this area of my life. Though if I look from a different perspective, it can be said that I have had a very stocked schedule for the past year, and things have shifted so much, that I really just had to seek for somewhat of a balance, by unfortunately tabling blogging.

But my heart has never left this place, and so I have worked to rebuild and to find that time to actually write.

Quickly I would just like to share: Hi, my name is Ashley, and I AM NOT PERFECT! *Welcome to Perfectionists Annonymous*

Now recently I have been thinking about the many opportunities that have been afforded me, which I am grateful for, but in the mix of success there have been some opportunities that I have BOTCHED.

I have been entrusted with stages, and opportunities, where I carelessly handled the task I was entrusted with.

But in those moments I always learned one lesson.

You Will Mess Up & at times You Need to Mess Up

And in messing up, you get HUMBLED, and you are quickly reminded of who opened the door of opportunity in the first place.

One specific situation, taught me that I WASN’T READY for the opportunities I kept asking God to provide.

It also showed me what God wants to do, and where He wants to take me. But messing up taught me that my priorities were not properly in place, and there were somethings that could wait, that I was placing above things that could not.

I am here to remind someone today that YOU ARE NOT PERFECT

So if you did 10 things and messed up on one, as a friend of mine would say, focus on the 90% you gained and not the 10% you missed.

To wail about the 10%, is to neglect to celebrate the 90% that God has allowed you to accomplish. When we focus on what we failed to do, we also fail to focus on what God did. When we focus on what we failed to do, we fail to give God the glory that HE DESERVES. So even in this moment, as you read this, why not take a pause- I mean STOP, and make a joyful noise unto the Lord (Ps. 100), and give Him thanks for the 90%.

God is greater than our failures. He is greater than our mistakes. He graced us with the strength to accomplish ALL that we have, and like earthly fathers who pick up their children, and dusts them off after a fall, so does our heavenly father love us in spite of our varying imperfections.

It is just a simple reminder for today as I remind myself that I am not perfect, I am not all powerful, and I am not superwoman, which means I CAN’T DO IT ALL, but I CAN DO MY BEST, with the help of the one who has all power, and who sees the depth of my heart and still loves me the same- Jesus.

Phil 4:13– I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

Phil 1:6- Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ

Matthew 7:11- If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Its good to be back,

Thank you for reading,
