Purpose:

  • The reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.
  • A person’s sense of resolve or determination.
  • Have as one’s intention or objective.
    “God has allowed suffering, even purposed it”

 

Purpose and Christian are words that have become somewhat synonymous in our Christian society today. We are always talking about purpose: finding purpose; and how important it is, because knowing what God has created you to do means that you are walking in His will.

If you have ever had the opportunity of being in a group development session then I am sure you have had the pleasure of doing the exercise called the trust fall. For me it is one of the most unpleasant experiences to have. I mean free falling backward into the arms of someone waiting to catch you, can be the most terrifying experience.

It would be fantastic to start this venture off with something uplifting and inspiring but this isn’t meant to do that. It is meant to bring us to consciously evaluate ourselves. In Rev. 3: 14-22 the bible speaks about the church of Laodicea, which was lukewarm.
